Survey360

At Thermal Vision Ecology, we recognise that supporting our customers goes far beyond just providing a camera. That’s why we include free training and ongoing support with every hire.

However, we also know that some projects require extra support, whether it’s managing large complex sites or finding the resources to analyse hours of footage.

That’s why we have created Survey360, our complete bat survey solution.

Survey 360 Feature

We manage every stage of the process for you from initial planning (ensuring accurate cost calculations) right through to video analysis, so you receive fully reviewed data and a completed report on time for your clients.

With Survey360, you can streamline your workload, eliminate uncertainty, and deliver consistency for your clients.

Whether you require a site plan so you can accurately cost a site or need help reducing an analysis backlog, we are here to support as much or as little as you require.

Pre-Survey Consultation

You will receive a free initial consultation, during which we can advise you on the suitability of our cameras for your specific site, answer any questions and provide an outline of expected costs.

If you’d like a more accurate quotation, share the site details and map location. From there, we can produce a full site plan showing the optimal camera types, placements, and quantities needed to maximise survey efficiency and data quality.

Onsite Support

We have a team of trained technicians available to assist on-site. They will arrive with all the cameras and work with your team to position them as required. They will stay with the cameras throughout the evening, ensuring there are no technical issues and all video data is collected.

This also provides a perfect opportunity to upskill your team. While on-site, our technicians are happy to provide training and answer any questions.

This option is highly recommended for inexperienced users and large sites that require four cameras or more.

Data Analysis

We are always happy to help upskill your team and train them on our data-analysis software. However, when your workload is high or you need extra support, you can now send your footage to us for review.

Our trained analysts process footage using advanced software tools, including high-sensitivity ode and tracking filters where appropriate. The relevant activity is detailed in a clear report, showing both the original thermal image and the enhanced version used during analysis.

All activity is time-stamped, with analyst notes provided to support interpretation and indicate the likelihood of emergence or other relevant observations.

Our data-analysis service is overseen by our Head Ecologist, Dr Liat Fernando CEcol MCIEEM.

Post Survey Support

Every survey is different and offers its own unique challenge, therefore we offer every customer a post-survey debrief. This provides an opportunity to discuss what went well and what we can learn for next time.

If you require any footage in video format, we would be happy to provide you with this. We can also provide data storage services if the footage retention is required.

With Survey360, you can build your own support package that reflects your needs and resources. We are here to help and advise every step of the way.

I am delighted to be collaborating with Thermal Vision Ecology to identify the best technology for ecological – and especially bat – surveys to provide the best possible equipment to improve surveying standards. Using Thermal Vision Ecology’s industry leading expertise, it is now possible to provide high-end technology to provide a complete package deployment on either hire or purchase basis at price to suit any project.

TVE were easy to work with and very helpful. Andrew Milner came over on the first night of hire, with two kits, to one of our sites and was a great help teaching me how to use the gear at a trial event. My crew and I then spent several dusks and dawns filming bats leaving/returning to roosts on several of our projects. Overall, I was extremely happy with how our week-long hire went and, needless to say, we will be hiring again next month.

At Wildwood Ecology, we recently hired Thermal Vision cameras and the associated software developed by Thermal Vision Ecology for a bat emergence survey on a complex structure. One aspect of the roof we needed to monitor was only visible from 50 meters away, far beyond the capabilities of our infrared cameras. I would definitely recommend Thermal Vision Ecology to any ecologist in need of thermal imaging equipment.

Jack McCormack – Assistant Ecologist, Wildwood Ecology

The thermal cameras we hired from you became an invaluable piece of our survey kit this summer.  It took us a couple of weeks of playing about with them to understand how to best utilise them for our needs, but after that they were great.  Each kit contained in its own bag was easy to set up and dismantle.  Once we got to grips with the data analysis it was quick and easy and yielded great results for our clients.  Thermal Vision Research were on hand to answer any queries we had and provide support where needed.  We have already put our order in for 2026!
